In an article by Scott De Laruelle published on ConnectVerona.com, AFIT  alum Alton " Ike" Eichelkraut (M.S. Astronautics, 1960 and B.S. Aeronautical Engineering (Aero-Mechanical), 1955) discusses his flying experiences during the Korean War.

Eichelkraut was among the first aviation cadet classes in the new Air Force and spent time with fellow AFIT alum and NASA  astronaut Gordon Cooper (B.S. Aeronautical Engineering, 1956).
