Welcome to the Air Force Institute of Technology

Lt Col Joseph B. Skipper, Assistant Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Department of Operational Sciences, Graduate School of Engineering Management, Air Force Institute of Technology, was presented with two separated research awards on 5 Oct 2010.  The first was the Emerald/European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) 2009 Outstanding Doctoral Research "Highly Commended" Award for his dissertation entitled "Managing Supply Chain Disruptions" ranked second among twenty-five entries in the Logistics and Supply Chain Management Category.  The second award from the Emerald Literati Network was for the 2010 Outstanding Paper for his work "Minimizing Supply Chain Disruption Risk through Enhanced Flexibility".  This paper was selected as the best paper published in the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management for the year.  Ms Bea Ramirez,of Emerald Publishing, traveled to AFIT to personally present both awards to Lt Col Skipper at a Department awards ceremony in his honor.  Lt Col Skipper is also Deputy Director of the Center for Operational Analysis and Program Chair of the Master of Science in Logistics degree program.
