AFIT Professor Receives Air Force Lifetime Achievement Award

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio - Air Force Institute of Technology Professor, Dr. Richard F. Deckro, received the Air Force Analytic Community’s Analyst Lifetime Achievement Award acknowledging Dr. Deckro’s outstanding leadership and world class expertise consistently demonstrated while leading studies critical to the development, acquisition and fielding of systems, tools and weapons to improve warfighter capabilities throughout the professor’s distinguished career.
 
Dr Deckro’s position as Professor of Operations Research, Department of Operational Sciences, is within the AFIT Graduate School of Engineering and Management. Dr. Deckro’s Lifetime Achievement Award acknowledges him as a superb educator and highly respected researcher within AFIT.  “He is an AFIT treasure who enriches our educational mission through his research and professional achievement in academic and military circles, as well as through his dedicated teaching.  I’m very proud to call him one of our own,” stated AFIT Commandant, Brig Gen Walter Givhan.
 
The award was announced at the annual Air Force Analyses, Assessments and Lessons Learned Symposium, 18 Nov.
