AFIT School Honors Its Own

AFIT’s School of Systems and Logistics presented the John W. Demidovich Award, its highest honor, to faculty member Paul Joyce on 5 August 2009.

Joyce accepts awardAt the School, Mr. Joyce is the Team Lead for the Mission Ready Contracting Officer’s Course and is responsible for training more than 400 contracting officers annually. He also serves as the Chair of the Faculty Qualifications, Recruitment and Retention Committee for the AFIT/LS Faculty Council.

The Demidovich Award is based upon academic excellence and support to the School’s mission of providing premier systems and logistics education, service, and research that creates and sustains operational capabilities of air and space forces. The Demidovich Award winner is selected by the School’s faculty and has strong ties to platform performance.

The Award is dedicated to the late Dr. John W. Demidovich, a former AFIT professor, remembered as an exceptional educator who often entertained and provided memorable class instruction by incorporating costumes, skits, and antics.
