5 Alumni Nominated for brigadier general

Five AFIT alumni were nominated by the president to the Senate for appointment to the rank of brigadier general:

  • Col Jason Bartolomei (M.S. Systems Engineering, 2001), senior materiel leader and system program manager, Ground Based Strategic Deterrent Program Office, Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Hill Air Force Base, Utah
  • Col Jon Eberlan (M.S. Logistics Management, 2004, DG), Director, Air Force Budget Programs Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management and Comptroller
  • Col Lance French (M.S. Graduate Acquisition Management, 2002), Commander, Western Regional Command Defense Contract Management Agency
  • Col Jesse Friedel (M.S. Operations Analysis (IDE), 2010), Commander, 35th Fighter Wing, Pacific Air Forces
  • Col Michael Zuhlsdorf (M.S. Engineering & Environmental Management, 2002), United States Space Force Staff, Deputy Chief, Mission Sustainment, Office of the Chief of Space Operations

Also, Col Patrick Miller, a former instructor and course director in the Civil Engineer School, was nominated for his first star.  He is currently the 88th Air Base Wing commander at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.

When the above alumni are confirmed, the number of AFIT alumni who are current general officers will be 34 (2 Lt Gen, 13 Maj Gen, and 19 Brig Gen).
